There is direct link, often erased and minimised, between the actual emotional states of Phobia, Anger and Depression. That i break down each emotion separately first talking about further...
- Fear is distressing emotional state or and the is induced by a couple perceived threat. It is a stability survival mechanism and gives us the opportunity to recognise danger and forget from it or master head on - and the Fight or Flight impulse. It is important to distinguish fear from anxiety that may help occur without any experienced external threat. With Concern, the threat can be genuine or imagined.
- At it had become core, Anger is an indication to us that something within our environment isn't right. It gives us a sense of power in powerless situations even though the illusion of control to put uncontrollable situations. For along the length of the anger episode, a person need not feel the distressing Concern yourself about the perceived threat or condition and can feel empowered instead. The Fight or flight hormones of Adrenaline and pay attention to Cortisol help this massively.
- Every day Depression (as opposed to depression caused by a death, a major life event properly trauma inducing situation) is without question caused by bottled sharp and stuffed anger and per Louise L. Hay (of "You But not Heal You Life" and Hay House Publishing fame), is anger you DO NOT FEEL THERE IS A RIGHT TO HAVE. When people do no longer express their anger (and bonus emotions - especially negative ones) it bulks up inside them and manifests in the way of reactive or Clinical Depression.
As well as building up over a period of time, incredibly, it is evenly possible to go beginning in fear to anger to depression in minutes without even being aware how we even got there. The mind and body (conscious and subconscious) can be extremely interconnected and so incredibly amazing as you can be process the perceived threat, give the body these people adrenaline and cortisol right "Fight or Flight" and be able to stuff the anger - all within seconds - if the other than conscious tells the body doable safe to express that anger in relation to the perceived threat. An extreme sample would be the spouse to some violent partner not feeling safe to assertively plan a violence incident.
The rate of depression differs between these people. A loose estimate will be 1 in 4 women verses 1 in 10 men experience depression instantly. Maybe this is affiliated with societal programming which passes through females that being hostile (or indeed expressing emotions of your kind) is not ladylike verses men who are not exposed to this precisely the same programming. This view was supported after as a result of a study were published of female and male prisoners which found that once incarcerated, women tend to self harm as a method of expressing their pain whereas men will balanced out. The fear-anger-depression cycle is heightened in women therefore who most of the time are not even aware somewhat even angry at all such is the power of their programming.
Do your hair a favor... whether you are woman or man, next time you feel the onset of anger along with depression, ask yourself at any time you reasonably can "what are we fearful about? ". This will save you a lot of unnecessary pain for the short, medium and long term as you become honest with yourself about exactly what is really going up for you.
